HP launched EliteBook X G2 with 'unmatched serviceability' design cutting keyboard replacement time by 80%
Jan 5, 2026On January 5, 2026 at CES 2026, HP announced the EliteBook X G2 series featuring a new top-mount internal design intended to reduce keyboard replacement time by up to 80%, which HP said enables IT departments to 'renew, repair, and redeploy devices' faster. HP also announced firmware-level recovery for the EliteBook G1a, allowing IT to fix critical device issues even when a system cannot boot. Separately, HP said it has used more than 5 billion pounds of circular (reused, recycled, or renewable) materials in its products and packaging since 2019, and the EliteBook X G2 series is EPEAT 2.0 Gold registered.
