Chinese regulators named Ping An Health app among 65 apps for sharing user data with third parties without consent
May 16, 2025China's cyberspace and telecom regulators (National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center / Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, via Guangdong provincial notices) publicly named the Ping An Health app (v9.8.0, operated by Ping An Health Internet Co., a subsidiary of Ping An Good Doctor/Ping An Healthcare and Technology, HKEX:1833) in a May 16, 2025 batch of 65 apps found to violate personal-information rules. The finding: the app provided user personal information to other data processors without disclosing the recipient's identity, contact details, processing purpose/method, or data types, and without obtaining separate consent, in violation of China's Network Security Law and Personal Information Protection Law.
