Chinese regulators named Ping An Health app among 65 apps for sharing user data with third parties without consent

China's cyberspace and telecom regulators (National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center / Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, via Guangdong provincial notices) publicly named the Ping An Health app (v9.8.0, operated by Ping An Health Internet Co., a subsidiary of Ping An Good Doctor/Ping An Healthcare and Technology, HKEX:1833) in a May 16, 2025 batch of 65 apps found to violate personal-information rules. The finding: the app provided user personal information to other data processors without disclosing the recipient's identity, contact details, processing purpose/method, or data types, and without obtaining separate consent, in violation of China's Network Security Law and Personal Information Protection Law.
