On January 7, 2021, Wang Taixu witnessed a colleague taken away by ambulance at Pinduoduo's Shanghai headquarters and anonymously posted a photo on Maimai social platform. Pinduoduo fired him the next day. Wang continued speaking out via 15-minute Bilibili vlog exposing that Shanghai headquarters employees work over 300 hours/month and grocery unit workers over 380 hours/month. His video received 94,000 comments with top-voted expressing support and criticizing overwork culture.
