Zalando

Berlin-based European e-commerce platform for fashion, beauty, and lifestyle products, operating in about 25 European markets and publicly traded on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (DAX component).

Track Record

Zalando confirmed the shutdown of its Erfurt, Germany fulfillment center, affecting roughly 2,700 employees. Because management and the works council could not agree on a severance package, the dispute went to binding arbitration (Schiedsspruch), which set the terms of the social plan. The closure followed earlier cuts of about 450 Berlin customer-service jobs and coincided with plans to shift some roles to a new logistics hub in Bucharest, Romania.
