Track Record

During President Trump's May 2025 visit to Saudi Arabia, Oracle announced a $14 billion investment over 10 years—nearly 10x its previous $1.5 billion commitment. CEO Safra Catz explicitly credited 'the decisive actions and strong leadership of President Trump' for enabling the partnership. Catz served on Trump's 2016 transition team and currently serves on the Homeland Security Advisory Council.

Oracle settled a PAGA lawsuit for $15.5 million after two former California sales employees alleged the company violated state wage laws for commissioned workers. Plaintiffs claimed Oracle retroactively increased quotas or decreased commission rates on past sales, 're-planned' employees to reduce already-earned commissions going back to the beginning of the fiscal year, and clawed back prior payments by withholding newly earned commissions. The lawsuit was originally filed in 2015.

reactive

Oracle removed all mentions of the word 'diversity' from its corporate communications. The company also withdrew promised scholarship funding to the Urban League. On September 25, 2024, Oracle had confirmed a $20,000 contribution to support Urban League's educational initiatives, but later withdrew following internal DEI policy shifts.

On Trump's first full day in office (January 21, 2025), Oracle founder Larry Ellison appeared at the White House alongside OpenAI's Sam Altman and SoftBank's Masayoshi Son to unveil Stargate, a $500 billion AI infrastructure project. Ellison had notably skipped the inauguration the day before but was given prominent access the following day.

negligent

In January 2025, Oracle Cloud suffered a significant security breach exploiting a Java vulnerability. An attacker deployed malware into Oracle's Identity Manager database, exfiltrating sensitive authentication data including usernames, hashed passwords, SSO credentials, and LDAP passwords from over 140,000 Oracle Cloud tenants. Multiple lawsuits filed in March-April 2025 alleged Oracle intentionally withheld information about the breaches, with substantial delays violating mandatory notification requirements.

Oracle settled a class action lawsuit for $115 million after plaintiffs alleged the company surveilled consumers online and offline, compiled personal data into detailed profiles including geolocation, finances, demographics, interests, and health data, and sold those profiles to third parties. Oracle's 'coretag' tracking code was embedded on thousands of websites to intercept consumer communications. Oracle claimed to have amassed dossiers on 5 billion people. Court granted preliminary approval August 2024.

Throughout 2024, during Israel's military operations in Gaza, Oracle significantly deepened its engagement with the Israeli government and military. In February, Oracle donated $500,000 in supplies to IDF soldiers. In March, following meetings between Oracle CEO Safra Catz and Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gallant, founder Larry Ellison announced plans to invest $10 billion in computing facilities and "large AI centers" in Israel. In October, Oracle announced a partnership with Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, one of Israel's largest defense contractors, on an AI project to provide "warfighters with quick, actionable insights in the battlespace."

At KubeCon 2023, Oracle announced $3 million per year for three years in Ampere Arm-based compute credits on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to the Cloud Native Computing Foundation. Oracle is a founding member of the Linux Foundation, Eclipse Foundation, and Java Community Process, maintains 1,400+ GitHub repositories with 5,000+ contributors, and is the top contributor for total lines of code changed across the Linux 6.1 kernel.

Oracle CEO Safra Catz initiated and led a partnership with the United Negro College Fund over 20 years ago, through which the company has provided over $12 million in scholarships and internships. Oracle also created its first DE&I team in 2009, launched an Executive Diversity Council, and maintains multiple employee resource groups including networks for diverse abilities, LGBTQ+ employees, cultural harmony, indigenous employees, and intergenerational collaboration.

Oracle Academy works with educators globally to prepare students for technology careers, offering academic institutions and educators free teaching and learning resources including curricula, cloud technology, software, and professional development opportunities. The program advances technology education, skills development, innovation, and inclusion across diverse communities.

$55K

After January 6, 2021, Oracle's PAC pledged to no longer back politicians who objected to the Electoral College certification of Biden's victory. However, during the 2022 midterms, the PAC donated $55,000 to election deniers including Reps. Steve Scalise, Jim Banks, Jim Jordan, Ralph Norman, and Darrell Issa.
